Awesome Weekend

Yesterday was our 2 year dating anniversary. Since Hailey was with her Mom for the weekend, we decided to have some fun together and do some things that we typically don't do. Shop. However, it was ridiculously cold out so we didn't do that so much. Friday night we did grab a bite to eat because it is my rule to never cook on Fridays. We went up to Chipotle which is my favorite restaraunt on earth! If you haven't been there, when you come over for Suzie's wedding, you should. Then Saturday I went on my normal grocery store followed by Sam's Club run. When I got home, I had a whole bunch of fresh fruits and veggies, so I asked Danny to clean things out of the fridge while I took a shower. When I got out, he had the whole fridge cleaned out and was scrubbing down the shelves and drawer. I didn't expect him to go that far, but who was I to stop him??

Once we got ready, we did one of my favorite things to do over here....we went to the pet store and played with some puppies. Now I know that those puppies come from puppy mills, but knowing that doesn't make me not want to play with them! We played with a Boxer puppy that was ok, but then a 9 week Golden Retriever puppy that won my heart. Oh she was so sweet! Danny even really liked her, but he had to bring me back down to Earth and remind me that we live in 1005 square feet and already have a dog, a cat, and a Hailey. We don't have room for a Golden Retriever. I do know what kind of dog we're getting when we move to a bigger house though!

After that, we met up with Danny's parents for dinner at Olive Garden. I just love Ken & Joyce. They are so nice to me, and we have such a great time with them. It is so wonderful having in-laws that are great to be around! Danny & I then rented a movie that none of you should watch. I saw George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and John Malkovich and thought it was good. I was wrong. Burn After Reading was so incredibly dull. We should have watched Horton Hears a Who.

Sunday, we relaxed for awhile and then met up with some friends of ours at this Improv club by where we live. I don't know if anyone has heard of the comic Jeffrey Ross. He's been on Comedy Central a bunch and he is a celebrity roaster. He was recently voted the Meanest Man in Comedy, and he was also on last years Dancing with the Stars. He was absolutely hilarious!! We had such a great time. We sat in the front row of course, so he made fun of us for awhile which was amazing. I even got my picture taken with him, and he loved me because I said that his partner on Dancing with the Stars was the best, and she is! I love Edyta. I'll post the picture next time I update my camera.

Finally I need to issue a retraction. Just so you all know, I am happy with myself. I love myself very much, I just want to be healthy and not continue to go up in jeans sizes! So far, so good. I am down 4 1/2 pounds and have walked at least two miles a day since I started. I either walk all through my lunch break at work, which is an hour, or after work. One day I did both and walked a total of 5 miles. Yesterday started something tough though, I mixed up the walking and the jogging. I hurt a bit today, but it feels great. I can already see a difference in the way my body looks. Plus I have the best support system. Danny constantly tells me how proud he is that I'm getting healthy. I feel amazing!

  1. Sounds like a nice 'together' weekend, Jess! It is an awesome feeling to know that you are in the right place, isn't it!?! Your dad and I have that place and it is incredible! Love you... ;-)

  2. What a weekend-I was tired just reading all you two did!!!! Nice to have fun during all this cold. I always check out the pet stores and their animals...just know none are coming home with me. Love that you have a blog Jessi-keep up all the good work

  3. Sounds like a wonderful weekend. I know who Jeffrey Ross is, Todd and I watch him on Comedy Central. Cool that you got to meet him and get your pic with him.

  4. First...YAY Jess on continuing your journey to being fit and healthy (and GREAT job on the weight loss)...and we all have that size that we just refuse to go past..mine was 3 sizes ago.

Who can resist a pet store and puppies? I love them all...and who cares where they come from...they are here. I never even consider them b/c of the COST in pet stores..OUCH. (ok, I did get Sadie in one, but I can't help it, she was too cute to leave behind)

What a weekend..sounds VERY busy. I have that same rule about cooking, but it is Sunday evening b/c Uncle Joe lays down before dinner, so the boys were on their own on Sundays nights.

I'm so glad you have wonderful in-laws that you can love and that love you back. I had in-laws like that. Just wished I'd had more time with them.

Let me know why you love life today!
