Life Changes

I've reached the point where I am ridiculously unhappy with my appearance. There have been many times where I've known that others might not think that I'm attractive, but I've officially reached the point where I htink I am unattractive. Therefore it is time to act!! I am on a mission to get healthy. I am going to eat healthy foods and become fit and active. I finally bought an iPOD and it is amazing to me how much easier it is to exercise with one! I walked two miles yesterday & two today. I'm writing this here, because I need a reminder of this promise that I am making to myself. I am going to feel good about myself soon! Also, I think I'm going to set a goal to run in the Kansas City Marathon in October and do a half-marathon. I just need to be in shape enough to start running 1-2 miles 3 times a week in July. So here we go guys. Here's to the new Jessica Shaver!

  1. Jess I'm right there with you! You can do it. I'm slowly trying to get there too. I keep using this thyroid thing as an excuse but I'm finally trying to just step it up & take care of myself:)

PS- I think you're beautiful, but I know how important it is to feel good about yourself:)

  2. Aww, Jess that about made me cry. You are beautiful inside and out, that's why I love you so much. I think it's awesome that you are taking steps to eat better and exercise....I think we can all benefit from it. I know you can reach your goals if you set your mind to it...and keep that ipod in hand! :)

If you need any marathon training advice, email Todd. He has various websites that he looks too for training on for triathlons, marathons, etc and can help you find something that will take you step by step.

    Good luck!

  4. I like the old Jessica Shaver. If you want to get healthy, that is great, just don't be to hard on yourself and stick with it. I have lost 987 pounds in my life because I have a tough time sticking to anything.

  5. Jessi-you are one good looking girl-always. That doesnt depend on size, clothes, etc. Now as far as the exercising-it is always a good time to get fit, feel better and stay healthy. What you do today to get healthy will help when you are my age! is that dog walking with you??????? Maggie keeps me walking daily

  6. You and Josh can do get fit together... He needed 2 more credit hours so that he has a full load and is taking Personal Shape Up. He had to run a mile and 1/2 today with a bunch of kinesiology majors!

P.S. I have that shirt you're wearing in the picture....Old Navy

  8. Jessi Jessi Jessi....Getting fit and staying healthy is a great new goal, but sweetie, you radiate beauty, and it makes me sad you don't see it. I support your goal, and your need to get healthy, and you have all the motivation right there in your home with you...Hailey. You will want to be a strong healthy mom and you will want to set good eating and exercising examples for her (Danny has already told me his just has a great metabolism, so he stays trim---lucky guy) So just concentrate on eating well, and moving more, and things will start moving in the right direction for you! STOP comparing yourself to some kind of standard...I've seen the skinniest people eat like pigs and never move a muscle and not gain and ounce and those of us less fortunate with non-existant metabloisms fight this battle constantly. Fight the good fight girl, but then look in the mirror every morning, smile, and SEE that pretty girl I know and LOVE. Aunt Cindy

  10. Living a healthier lifestyle is the key and everything else will start to happen. Your family thinks you are beautiful now but how you feel about yourself is important. Good luck with the marathon. You are young and in good shape, I know you can do it.
